Dig deep into Myanmar's ethnic minority cultures with this 6 day tour of Ethnic Minority villages and Ancient temples. The tour includes 3 days visiting ethnic minority tribes and including a visit to the remote Chin village where the women have unique and interesting facial tatoos.

  • DAY 01

    Yangon

    Arrival day with free time to explore this former British colony which today has the highest number of colonial buildings in Southeast Asia. In the evening visit to Karaweik Hall Royal Barge and the striking Shwedagon Pagoda to witness the golden dome light up at sunset.

  • DAY 02

    Mrauk U

    A short flight to Sittwe and then a speed boat journey upriver to the last royal capital of Rakhine, Mrauk U.

  • DAY 03

    Shakama

    A varied day of visiting ethnic minorities and ancient temples beginning with a scenic and very bumpy journey by road or by boat to the tattoo Chin village of the Lay Too Chin minority. Returning to Mrauk U to visit a Shakama (Thet) minority village before a canoe trip through beautiful landscape to explore a series of ancient temples.

  • DAY 04

    Sittwe

    On the return journey to Sittwe, visit another remote tribal village of Mro (Khimi) where the locals are so friendly and proud of their high quality hand woven clothing.

  • DAY 05

    Yangon

    A morning visit to the Sittwe market before a return flight to Yangon for further sightseeing.

  • DAY 06

    Yangon

    Departure day. A priate car will transfer you to the airport.
