Aaron - Cambodia Ground Mananger

Ride around the countryside on a train made of bamboo. Go temple hopping in Colonial Battambang. Explore nature and stay with a local family in Tonle Sap nature reserve and learn about the history of the Khmer Rouge in Phnom Penh. It's a whirlwind journey of wonder, excitement, awe and interest.

  • DAY 01

    Arrive in Siem Reap

Arrive at Siem Reap airport where your driver will be waiting for you ready to take you to your hotel. Check in, freshen up and get ready for your Cambodian adventure.

  • DAY 02

    Sunrise at Angkor Wat

Rise early to watch the sunrise over Angkor Wat, one of mankind’s greatest achievements. An expert guide will collect you from your hotel, and check you into the Angkor complex just in time to see the sun rise. You'll continue your exploration of the temple complex for the rest of the morning.

After a spot of lunch spend the afternoon exploring Angkor's lesser known temples. Marvel at the smiling faces of the Bayon Temple, the jungle engulfed Ta Prohm Temple and the sprawling Elephant Terrace.

In the evening enjoy the lively town of Siem Reap which is teeming with outstanding restaurants, funky bars, markets and creative shops.

  • DAY 03

Temple hopping and a quick cruise

Day two of temple hopping. Your guide will sit with you in the morning to work out an itinerary that matches your interest and energy levels.

The day will finish with a peaceful boat ride on the moat of Angkor Thom at sunset.

Enjoy cruisiing around the calm serene ancient Khmer water systems, with a G&T in hand and bird song in the background.

  • DAY 04

    Free day in Siem Reap

Spend a free day in funky Siem Reap. The town is chocked full of cool cafes, lovely little bars and great markets. If you want to do something a little more exciting chat to us about our Siem Reap Day Tours.

  • DAY 05

    Explore Battambang

Your driver will pick you up from your hotel for the 3 hour countryside journey to Battambang.

Visit and take a ride on the fabulous bamboo train, a great way to explore the rural areas around this friendly riverside town. Travel southwest to explore Phom Sampeau, a limestone hillside with panoramic views, and see the caves of the Khmer Rouge. On the way back to town visit Cambodia’s first winery.

  • DAY 06

Go on a history hunt in Battambang

Take some time to explore this laid back sleepy town full of crumbling colonial beauty and then visit Banan Temple and the villages along the way, visiting the ancient wooden houses that are over one hundred years old. In the afternoon visit Wat Ek Phnom and see the local rice paper and noodle makers and visit the fish paste market.

  • DAY 07

    Cruise along Tonle Sap

Today you'll embark on Cambodia’s most spectacular boat journey travelling from Battambang to Prek Kanteal. Your driver will pick you up from the hotel and drop you off at the harbour where you'll board a small junk boat.

You'll navigate down narrow waterways and marshland, to arrive in the floating village of Prek Kanteal, in the heart of the Prek Toal bird sanctuary.

Thi evening you'll stay in a very simple home in the village, which give you a unique insight into the lives of the families living on the lake.

  • DAY 08

    Explore Prek Toal Bird Sanctuary

At sunrise you'll take a boat into Prek Toal Core Area to observe some of South East Asia’s rarest birdlife.

The nesting area in a flooded forest is spectacular in itself. Continuing by boat you'll arrive back in Siem Reap for a late lunch and a free afternoon.

  • DAY 09

Do a Phnom Penh City Tour

A morning flight takes you to Phnom Penh and in the afternoon you can take a city tour of Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and the Royal Palace.

Why not enjoy dinner at Friend’s Restaurant, a vocational training NGO supporting Phnom Penh’s street children.
