ITINERARY

1
DAY 1: ARRIVE IN SIEM REAP
Your driver will collect you from your Phnom Penh hotel and take you to the airport for the short flight to Siem Reap.   Upon arrival, your local guide and driver will take you to the hotel.    The rest of the day is free to explore the lively town of Siem Reap, where tuk tuks whizz down dusty roads past funky bars and restaurants. Visit the local markets and finish the night on the party strip aptly named ‘Pub Street.’

DAY 2: ANGKOR TEMPLE TOUR
After breakfast at the hotel it is time to explore the UNESCO World Heritage site inside the awe-inspiring walled city of Angkor Thom.    Beyond the towering walls we will visit the might Baphuon Temple, the Phimeanakas and Royal Palace Enclosure, the Terrace of the Elephants, and the Terrace of the Leper King.    The next stop is the favourite temple for photography enthusiasts and amateurs alike. The Ta Prohm Temple looks as though it is being strangled by the enormous tentacles of jungle vines. The nearby jungle has enveloped this stone structure, providing incredible photo opportunities.    We then stop for lunch with views of magnificent Angkor Wat as the backdrop. Try some authentic Khmer cuisine or tuck into international dishes.    It’s now time for the highlight of the Angkor Wat temple tour. Come with us through the main causeway and discover the many galleries, libraries, pavilions, courtyards and ponds in this imposing stone city. Carved into the walls are images telling Hindu legends and stories of Khmer battles.    Climb to the summit of the temple and be rewarded by unparalleled views of the city and beyond.

DAY 3: SIEM REAP - KOMPONG KHLEANG FREE DAY
Your day is free to relax by your pool, explore Siem Reap or take one of the many optional tours available.   In the afternoon we will take you East of Siem Reap to the northern edge of Tonle Sap. Here, we visit the village of Kompong where locals live on stilted houses on the lake. This is an opportunity to experience unique Cambodian culture and to observe daily life up close.

DAY 4: SIEM REAP - SIHANOUKVILLE BY FLIGHT, SIHANOUKVILLE - KAMPOT BY CAR
Your driver will collect you from the hotel and take you Siem Reap Airport for the short flight to the coastal town of Sihanoukville.    From here, it is a 3 hour drive to Kampot.    Kampot is a city on the Preaek Tuek Chhu River in southern Cambodia, known for its pepper plantations and salt fields.    We visit the former Governor’s mansion from the French colonial rule, which is now the Kampot Museum and tells the history of the city.    We then make our way west to the Preah Monivong Bokor National Park with its vast forest and cool climate. The park is home to gibbons and big cats

DAY 5: KAMPOT - KEP FULL DAY TOUR BY CAR WITH LOCAL GUIDE
We have been taking couples, groups and families on tours to Kampot for many years. Our local guides can’t wait to take you to La Plantation, a social and sustainable family project. La Plantation is a perfect combination of traditional farming and modern processing. Spend the day traipsing through the vast garden plots where salted Kampot Pepper, red long pepper, turmeric,  bird chilli and local fruits grow in abundance. Then, it is time to use these fresh, local, traditional ingredients in a cooking class.

DAY 6: KAMPOT - KEP BY CAR
Your driver will meet you at the hotel for the 1 hour journey from Kampot to Kep. Kep is famous for delicious crab and other fresh seafood sold along the beachfront restaurants.   After check in, you have a free day to spend at your leisure.
7
DAY 7: KEP FREE DAY
Explore the beach or the nearby tropical islands during your holiday to Kep. We hope you packed your hiking boots, as national park treks and walking treks are a favourite activity for adventurous globetrotters.
8
DAY 8: KEP TO PHNOM PENH BY CAR
Your driver will meet you at the hotel for the 3 ½ hours journey from Kep to Phnom Penh.   Phnom Penh was once known as the pearl of Asia and was considered among the most beautiful French-built cities in Indochina. This vibrant city showcases fine French architecture, wide boulevards, and a riverside promenade boasting an eclectic mix of restaurants and shops.    We recommend taking a leisurely stroll along the riverside before sunset cocktails and dinner at the Foreign Correspondents Club.
9
DAY 9: PHNOM PENH CITY TOUR
Be prepared for a harrowing morning at the Tuoi Sieng Genocide Museum. The brutality of the Khmer Rouge is documented in candid, uncensored photos. The museum even has the original torture instruments used by the regime on fellow Cambodians. There will also be an opportunity to meet one of the few survivors.   Next on the culture and history tour of Cambodia we visit the Choeung Ek Killing Fields - the final destination for prisoners at Tuoi Sieng. Here, a large shrine filled with more than 8,000 human skulls acts as a memorial and a grim reminder of the atrocities.    Reflect on the mornings history tour over lunch near the Royal Palace. The palace is home to the Silver Pagoda, named for the 5,000 silver tiles covering the floors.    The final stop on the culture and history tour of Phnom Penh is a visit to Wat Phnom.    In the evening you have the opportunity to book a leisurely sunset cruise along the Mekong River, whilst enjoying a selection of appetisers, tapas and drinks.
