ITINERARY

DAY 1: Arrive in Hanoi

Your own private driver will be waiting to take you from Hanoi Airport to the hotel.

DAY 2: Hanoi By Vespa

Explore this exhilarating city on the back of a vintage Vespa. Our experienced drivers will take you to the floating village of Banana Island, then through the iconic train street where railway tracks cut through a suburban neighbourhood mere metres from shopfronts and homes. The next stop is a bustling local market selling everything from fresh fish, coffee beans, and thousands of trinkets. From here we navigate the narrow alleyways to the site of an American B-52 Bomber in a city lake, before visiting a tranquil Buddhist temple in a beautiful garden. Our final stop on the Hanoi Vespa tour is a Kumquat farm where we learn about the ancient tradition of making tea at the home of a Vietnamese Tea Master.

DAY 3: Cruise along Ha Long Bay

HaLong Bay, one of the world’s most spectacular natural wonders, is waiting to be explored. For this adventure, pack the essentials; sun protection, toiletries, and warm clothing for the winter months. A private car will transport you to the Heritage Line’s welcome lounge at the Tuan Chau Marina. From here, a speedboat will take you to your luxurious floating home. This magnificent cruise liner will glide across the emerald green waters of Halong Bay to Lan Ha Bay and the main island of Cat Ba. The first taste of luxury aboard the cruise ship in HaLong Bay is a sumptuous lunch prepared in front of guests at Ginger’s restaurant. Enjoy a 5 star meal while marvelling at the panoramic views of the dramatic scenery of HaLong pay passing you by. After lunch, relax on the terrace deck with your fellow passengers or retire to your private balcony to soak up the views of this surreal landscape of towering limestone karsts. Premium facilities on board include an infinity pool and beauty spa, where guests are treated to massages and facials. Upon reaching Cat Ba Island, we disembark and cycle or take and electric cart for a tour towards Viet Hai Village. Little has changed in Viet Hai since the ancestors of the 80 households settled here centuries ago. The village is in a valley within Cat Ba National Park, surrounded by verdant green forest and impressive mountains. The community is entirely self-sufficient and we have the unique opportunity to witness how they live day to day. On returning to the ship, our expert chef will prepare an interactive cooking class in the restaurant’s open kitchen. Learn about the local ingredients and techniques to cook authentic Vietnamese dishes. After dinner, unwind at the bar with a cocktail or watch a movie at the cinema before retiring to your personal cabin for the night.

DAY 4: Ha Long Bay to Hue

Day 4 of your luxury tour of Vietnam begins with an early morning Tai Chi session on the terrace deck. Following this very healthy start to the day a breakfast of coffee, tea and pastries await you in the dining room. The luxury cruise liner will then glide to Frog Lake, a gorgeous, secluded area perfect for swimming and kayaking alongside the limestone cliffs. We then set sail for the pier where many guests relax on comfortable sun beds on the terrace deck to soak up the final glorious views of HaLong Bay. The speed boat will be waiting to take you back to the Tuan Chau Marina where our driver will be waiting to drive you to the airport for the next stage of your luxury holiday to Vietnam. It’s time to visit Hue.

DAY 5: Hue Motorbike Tour

At 9:30 am your personal guide will meet you at the hotel to introduce you to the highly skilled and qualified motorbike drivers who will be taking you on a history and culture tour in Hue. The tour will take you through the famous Dong Ba Market, through narrow laneways and across quaint wooden bridges over canals in the countryside. Our guides are highly knowledgeable about the history of Hue and will take you to the king’s tomb, the Forbidden Purple City, and around the grand citadel, while telling stories about the history of Hue in an entertaining fashion. The day concludes at a Buddhist pagoda, where monks have prepared a traditional vegetarian lunch.

DAY 6: Hue To Hoi An By Jeep

At 9:00 am you will leave Hue and being the 160km journey to the enchanting riverside city of Hoi An. The drive from Hue to Hoi An is a highlight of the luxury tour in Vietnam. The mountain route over Hai Van Pass has been described as among the best coastal roads in the world. The iridescent green rice paddies to the right and blue lagoons and secret beaches to left are simply stunning. This road truly is a ribbon of perfection. Before reaching Hoi An, stop at the unique rock formation Marble Mountain where ornate temples and enormous caves housing huge statues of buddha’s make for an unforgettable experience.

DAY 7: Hoi An Free Day

Relax and enjoy your all inclusive pool and spa treatment.

DAY 8: Hoi An Cycle Tour

At 8:00 am a private bus will take you to Hoi An Town. The leisurely cycling tour in Hoi An begins by pedalling along the Thu Bon River to a local fishing village. Ride down quaint country lanes at your own pace and soak up the local life. Witness farmers toiling away in the rice fields and keep an eye out for the mischievous water buffalo frolicing in the shallows. We then take a short break at the home of a local family before taking an hour boat trip to the coconut water palm forest. From there, cycle to Tra Que and learn about the methods farmers have used to grow organic vegetables in the area for centuries. A fun, immersive cooking lesson at the farm is the perfect way to end the Hoi An cycling tour.

DAY 9: Hoi An Free Day

Spend the day relaxing at the resort or head into town and visit the markets or the world famous tailor shops.

DAY 10: Danang To Saigon

Our driver will transfer you to Danang Airport for a quick hour-long flight to Saigon. Upon arrival, you will be picked up from Ho Chi Minh Airport and taken to the hotel. The day is free to spend as you wish. We recommend visiting the Ben Thanh Market and War Remnants Museum. At 05:00 pm our local guides will arrive at the hotel before taking you on street food tour in Saigon from the back of a motorbike. The tour involves five stops across the city to sample an array of Vietnamese street food.

DAY 11: Cu Chi Tunnels By Boat

Our luxury holiday to Vietnam includes history and culture tours. A visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels is a favourite for history buffs interested in the guerrilla warfare tactics employed by the Viet Cong. At 7:00 am a private transfer will take you to our private speedboat at Bach Dang pier. The cityscape quickly changes to jungle after a mere 15 minutes. Enjoy a light breakfast of pastries, fresh tropical fruits, and Vietnamese iced coffee, as your guide explains rural traditions and aspects of life on the river. At 8:50 am you will arrive at the site of the Cu Chi Tunnels for a tour that includes crawling through a short stretch of tunnel, visiting a weapon and booby trap expedition, and visiting a firing range. At 11:00 am sit down for a delectable traditional Vietnamese lunch by the river. At 11:30 am we say goodbye to the Cu Chi Tunnel and return to Ho Chi Minh City. At 1:00 pm: Hotel staff will be waiting at Tan Cang pier to take you back to the hotel by private car.
