ITINERARY
DAY 1: ARRIVAL DAY IN HO CHI MINH CITY/ SAIGON
Welcome to Vietnam.
Upon your arrival at Saigon airport, look for our driver
who will be waiting for you with a sign bearing your name.
The journey from the airport to your hotel will take approximately one hour and is an entertaining experience full of chaotic traffic, hectic architecture and overloaded motorbikes.
ONLY IN THE MOVIES
In the movie the guide from Saigon Silver Star is waiting for Amanda at baggage claim, this is definitely something which does not happen real life, so please look out for the sign with your name once you have collected your bag and exited to the arrivals area.
DAY 2: HCMC CYCLO MARKET TOUR
Our guide will meet you at the hotel to start the cyclo tour. We will discover the eastern side of the city.
Giac Lam Pagoda, the oldest one in Ho Chi Minh City with huge Buddha statues system which was built on 1774. Then ride to Cho Lon (Big Market) and Thien Hau Pagoda which located inside China Town, it’s a place of great historical and cultural importance many of temples, pagodas in surrounding area.
Before the tour ends, stop over to visit the Ben Thanh Market, the very same market that the group in the movie went shopping and got to taste Durian for the first time.
You will be back to the hotel around 12:00 and the rest of the day is your free time to explore and fall in love with the city.
DAY 3: HO CHI MINH CITY/ SAIGON VESPA FOOD TOUR
Our tour will begin with a pick up from your hotel.
You will be greeted by our local guides and then introduced to the proper way to ride on the back of the bike during your tour. Each of our guests rides with an English speaking local guide who will introduce them to the areas of the city as we make our way to the different food vendors spread throughout the different districts of Ho Chi Minh. At each stop we will get off the bikes and sit down to eat together like a family.
DAY 4: HO CHI MINH CITY/ SAIGON FLIGHT TO DA NANG
At the right time our driver will transfer you to the airport for a flight to Da Nang. When you arrive at Da Nang, our driver will transfer you to the hotel in Hoi An for checking in and relaxing.
You can use some of your free time to go explore, fall in love (love with our tour guide not included sorry haha) and maybe even get some clothes made at Yaly tailors like Amanda did in the movie.
ONLY IN THE MOVIES In the film, A Tourist's Guide To Love, the group is transported by bus from Ho Chi Minh City to Hoi An. We have added a local flight instead as this bus trip would take about 20 hours.DAY 5: MY SON ANCIENT RUINS
Depart Hoi An for the 50km journey to My Son Ancient Ruins, the very same temple complex Amanda and the Saigon Silver Star group visited when they could not get to the Golden Hand Bridge.
My Son is a collection of temple ruins constructed between the 4th and 14th centuries by the kings of Champa. Influenced by Hinduism, these temples were a place for worshiping Shiva and Vishnu. During the war it became a base for the Viet Cong, which forced US bombing leaving 20 of 70 structures intact. The tour of the ruins takes approximately 1.5 hours.
ONLY IN THE MOVIES In the film, A Tourist's Guide To Love, the Saigon Silver Star guide makes our like My Son is something very rare to discover. My Son is actually a popular tourist attraction in central Vietnam.DAY 6: HOI AN WALKING TOUR
Visit the historical and cultural museum security meeting, visitors will get an overview of the historical process as well as the rich culture of the ancient town.
Enjoy the local market close by. Explore the streets and take in the beautiful ancient town and get your photo moment on the Japanese Bridge.
After the walking tour, you will have a short boat trip on Hoai river and have a chance to float some Hoi An paper flower lanterns along the gentle water of the river.
DAY 7: HOI AN COUNTRYSIDE BIKING TOUR
The tour starts by cycling along to the Thu Bon River to visit a local fishing village.
Ride along country lanes at a peaceful pace viewing local life and pause to see farmers toiling in their rice fields using centuries of farming practices. Peddle your way through palm forests, across bridges; fields of water buffalo....Take a short break at a local family before enjoying an hour boat trip inside Coconut water palm forest and enjoy lunch at the Tra Que vegetable village.
DAY 8: BA NA HILLS/ GOLDEN HAND BRIDGE TOUR
They couldn't do it the movie but we had to add it in. If any travel company does things right they have the tickets booked prior to the promise, haha.
DAY 9: DA NANG - HA NOI BY FLIGHT
At the right time our driver will transfer you to the airport for a flight to Hanoi. When you arrive at Hanoi, our driver will transfer you to the hotel in Hanoi to check in. You will have a free afternoon and evening to explore, get lost and fall in love.
The flight details will be confirmed.
DAY 10: HA NOI CITY TOUR - WATER PUPPET SHOW
Your guide will lead you on a city tour to visit Uncle Ho. Learn about his great life at the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum and Presidential Gardens, Temple of Literature and Tran Quoc Pagoda.
You will be transferred back to the hotel and have the afternoon free to discover.
In the late afternoon, make your own way to the Water Puppet Theater to watch the Water Puppet show at 17:00 pm.
