Kratie Cambodia Tour

Although you can catch a bus or minivan from Phnom Penh, the road is pretty bumpy – so for the most comfort, our team can arrange a private car. From your accommodation in Phnom Penh to Kratie, the journey takes around 4 or 5 hours. If you’re coming from Siem Reap, you can bypass Phnom Penh and change buses in either Kampong Thom or Kampong Cham. Again, we can arrange a private transfer to make your journey smooth ‘n’ simple!

Most people travel for dolphin watching in a Mekong boat tour. But you could also just rent a tuk tuk for the day to visit the temples and pagodas dotted about, or head over to Koh Trong island to cycle around the countryside. There’s some great resorts there also, if you fancy treating yourself after your journey to Kratie.

Kratie is definitely worth visiting, especially if you’re moving further north or northeast during your trip to Cambodia, or if you’re planning on travelling overland to Vietnam. It makes an ideal stopover between Phnom Penh and Mondulkiri, for instance, as it’s about halfway between the two. But if you’re focusing on the south or west of the country and have limited time, maybe give it a miss.

Although many people mistakenly pronounce it “Kra-tee”, it’s actually “Kra-chay”. You may also see it written as “Kracheh” for that reason.
